Fender Player Plus Stratocaster MN 3-Color Sunburst Electric Guitar with Deluxe Gig Bag

Having played Squier Strats for years I decided to treat myself to a Fender and went for the Player Plus model. Love the slightly flatter neck profile and the satin finish. Noiseless pickups still have that distinctive Strat whack without the hissing and the push-pull on tone 2 to bring in the neck pick up in positions 1 and 2 gives some interesting tonal variations. First time I've experienced locking machine heads and have to say I'm impressed. Only slight negative is the "deluxe" gig bag which is not great but the guitar itself is superb

Mooie gitaar en speelt als een tierelier, heb meerdere Fender gitaren en deze met de 12" radius neck past er mooi bij. Snel geleverd en ook nog eens een stuk goedkoper dan anderen.

It' not about BAX, it is about the guitar.

In the realm of maple fret boards, on the Fender/Squier side, we are supposed to have the regular or roasted maple, along with the occasional "too white" or "too yellow" colors, unfortunately. But the one I got is none of the above, as it is just plain caramel. Not even close to the fender site pictures, the Sweatwater real pictures, or anything I could check on the internet, picture or video wise.

I understand trends, the tint, the style, and whatever the customer demand is at the moment, but I did not expect to get this. Besides, it's not only the neck, but the sunburst on the body is way too dark, as if the whole guitar was dipped into caramel for a finishing touch.

Is this just the way it should be, these days? Or should I send the guitar back and pray for better years ahead, or even make an attempt at a "lighter in tint" exchange in return?
Very disappointed.

Als echte leek van gitaren op onderzoek gegaan naar een beginnersgitaar voor onze kinderen. Daarbij viel de keuze op een 'Stratocaster', alhoewel het uiterlijk ook wat wil zou ik zeggen het geluid is ook belangrijk. Al met al was de keuze gevallen op dit model maar welke dan.
Al zoekende kwam ik uit op de merken Squire en Fender, daarbij leerde ik dat Squire het budget model is van Fender, dus de goedkoopste Stratocaster als naamhouder produceert. Daarnaast komt Fender zelf onder hun eigen naam met de huidige Player series maar gemaakt in Mexico (de zogenaamde MIM modellen). Uiteindelijk zijn er ook Amerikaanse Fender Stratocasters (de zogenaamde MIA modellen).
Al deze 3 klassen zijn dus ook naar prijs waarbij de keuze dus gevallen is op dit model, de player plus.
Alhoewel Mexicaans gemaakt draagt deze dus de 'Echte' Fender naam en is voorzien van enkele extra's boven op de normale Player als Locking Tuners, Noiseless Frets en een echte gigbag :).
Dus als leek, ben ik overstag gegaan voor dit model na een intensieve zoektocht prijs/kwaliteit. Ik hoop dat deze voordelen uiteindelijk toch de prijs / instap keuze goedmaakt. Dus de keuze was oorspronkelijk de player series maar de plus was dan eigenlijk mijn extra inbreng :).
Verder gekocht tijdens het onlangs gehouden Bax Festival op het terrein. Deze ervaring met de Bax store zelf was voor ons iig ook een extra memorabele dag. T was nog spannend, want de laatste op voorraad maar was inderdaad aanwezig .. tevreden naar huis (lange rit weer :)) maar de moeite waard dus!
